Assistant Superintendent of Police Shahrbanu Naqvi has achieved a commendable feat by receiving the Asia Society 21 Next Generation Fellowship, making her the first female police officer in Pakistan to receive this honor.

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Police, ASP Naqvi has been selected for the class of 2025, which is a recognition of his work to protect vulnerable groups in society and bring about positive tabadili in the system.

Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated means (mubarkabad di) the officer and termed his achievement as an effective achievement for the wattan. He said that the fact that the performance of Punjab Police officers is being recognized at the international level is a mamlah of great pride.

The Asia 21 Next Generation Fellowship will be held in the Philippines from December 5 to 7, 2025, where 30 outstanding individuals from 27 countries will be specially recognized for their extraordinary contributions.

ASP Naqvi became famous for his heroic act of rescuing a woman from a violent mob in Lahore's Ichhra Market in 2023, an incident that made him widely recognized as a symbol of bravery in the police force.

ASP Naqvi's achievement is a ray of new hope following the string of international awards won by Pakistani khaton police officers in recent years.

In March 2025, Sargodha City Police Station Police Officer Anam Khan Muhammad Sher received the Excellence in Criminal Investigation Award for leading and solving two high-profile murder cases at the World Police Summit in Dubai, reflecting her extraordinary achievements in policing.

In October 2024, Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer SP Benish Fatima received the IACP 40 Under 40 Award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police in Boston, recognizing her leadership and service to law enforcement agencies at the international level.
